This issue of VHJOE featured movie shows anatomy from the Female Visible Human data set at the level of the portal confluence and pancreas. This movie is particularly useful for those wishing to view normal EUS anatomy compared to the case report of “Agenesis of the dorsal pancreas” in this issue of VHJOE. The VH Female anatomy data set differs from the male in several aspects. The resolution of capture was three fold greater in the VH Female than in the male. The VH Female had a full stomach, which allows the anatomy data set to better approximate the usual EUS stations compared to the male. Unfortunately, the VH Female was less well preserved so the pancreas appears to have degraded either pre or post mortem.

Despite this drawback, the Female data set is particularly useful at showing the relation of structures to the pancreas and seems to better approximate EUS findings than the male data set does.

We invite the reader to compare the featured move to the video clips in “Agenesis of the dorsal pancreas”.
